Every spring East Tennessee gets coated in yellow pollen, right on top of everything that grew over the winter. Here’s a simple checklist to get the outside of your place ready for cookouts, pool days and company.
The checklist
- Siding: look for green on the shady side and red clay along the bottom. A soft wash takes care of both.
- Roof: check for black streaks or moss. Roof soft washing removes them without damage.
- Gutters: clear out leaves so spring storms don’t overflow onto your siding and foundation.
- Driveway and walkways: clean off winter grime, clay and slick green spots with a concrete cleaning.
- Deck and fence: wash off the gray and green, then let it dry before you stain. See deck and fence cleaning.
- Pool deck: get rid of the slippery film before the kids jump in. Here’s our pool deck cleaning.
- Patio furniture: rinse off pollen and mildew.
- Curb: a clean curb makes everything else look sharper.
