What Is Driveway & Concrete Cleaning?

Concrete soaks up dirt, red clay, oil and mildew until the whole driveway looks gray and blotchy. We clean it with a commercial surface cleaner so it comes out even, edge to edge, with no wand marks or zebra stripes.

Concrete cleaning covers driveways, sidewalks, walkways, porches, patios, steps and garage floors. We use a commercial surface cleaner, a spinning bar under a round hood, that cleans evenly from edge to edge. That’s how you get a uniform clean instead of the wand stripes you see after a do it yourself job.

What We Clean

  • Driveways and parking pads
  • Sidewalks, walkways and steps
  • Front porches, back patios and pavers
  • Garage floors
  • Red clay, mildew, tire marks and most oil spots

Signs You Need It

  • Gray or blotchy concrete that used to be white
  • Green or black film on shady spots and steps
  • Red clay stains at the bottom of the driveway
  • Tire marks and drip stains on the garage floor

Why Driveway & Concrete Cleaning Matters in East Tennessee

Concrete is like a sponge. Here in East Tennessee it soaks up red clay, mildew, pollen, tire marks, oil and whatever runs off the yard. Shady driveways and north facing sidewalks turn green and get slick, and the bottom of a sloped drive collects red stains every time it rains.

A clean driveway is one of the first things people notice from the street. It also gets rid of the slippery green film that makes walkways and steps dangerous, especially for kids and older folks.

What Comes Out and What Doesn’t

Red clay, mildew, algae, pollen and everyday grime come out great. Tire marks and most drip stains lighten a lot. Old oil that has soaked deep into the concrete for years, rust from fertilizer, and stains from leaves that sat all winter can need special treatments, and some may not come out all the way.

We’ll tell you up front what to expect so there are no surprises. If you’re thinking about sealing your concrete, right after a cleaning is the best time, since the surface is open and clean.

How We Do It, Step by Step

  1. Prep. We sweep or blow off loose dirt and move anything on the concrete.
  2. Pre-treat. Mildew, algae and stains get a pre-treatment so they release.
  3. Surface clean. We run the surface cleaner over every square foot for an even clean with no stripes.
  4. Detail. Edges, steps, corners and expansion joints get cleaned by hand with the wand.
  5. Post-treat. A final treatment helps slow mildew from coming back so it stays cleaner, longer.

What to Expect

  • Before we come: close windows and doors, and move cars, grills and patio furniture out of the way if you can.
  • Pets: keep them inside until we’re done and things dry.
  • Water: make sure the outside spigot works. That’s all we need from you.
  • On the day: we text you when we’re on the way and when we’re done, with photos.
  • After: everything is rinsed and ready to use the same day.

What Does Driveway & Concrete Cleaning Cost?

Concrete pricing depends mostly on square footage, plus how stained it is and whether you want add ons like sidewalks, patios or the curb. We give free, written prices and stick to them.

Driveway & Concrete Cleaning FAQ

Can you get oil stains out?

Most of the time we can lighten them a lot. Old oil that has soaked deep into the concrete may not come out 100 percent, but we’ll tell you up front what to expect.

Will pressure washing damage my concrete?

Not the way we do it. A surface cleaner spreads the pressure out evenly so it cleans without etching or leaving lines.

Should I seal my driveway after cleaning?

It’s optional, but sealing right after a cleaning helps it stay cleaner longer. Ask us about it when we’re out there.

Can you get out rust and red clay stains?

Red clay usually comes out great. Rust stains often need a special treatment. Ask us and we’ll tell you honestly what will and won’t come out.

How soon can I drive on it?

Right away. It’s just water and cleaner. Give it an hour or so to dry if you don’t want tire tracks on the clean concrete.

Do you clean pavers and stamped concrete?

Yes. We adjust the pressure for pavers and decorative concrete so we don’t wash out the joint sand or damage the finish.

Can you clean my garage floor too?

Yes. Garage floors clean up great, and it’s an easy add on when we’re already doing the driveway.

Do I need to be home?

Nope. As long as we can get to the outside, the water spigot works and pets are inside, you can be at work. We’ll text you before we start and when we’re done.

Do you use my water?

Usually, yes. We hook up to your outside spigot. A typical job uses about what a few loads of laundry would, so it barely moves your water bill. On well water? Tell us when you book and we’ll plan around it.

What if it rains?

Light rain doesn’t hurt the cleaning at all. If a real storm rolls in we’ll text you and reschedule.
